I think B2B has a hard time justifying marketing dollars in the first place, as so much of their business is word of mouth and referral, so they don't advertise as much, etc. Branding is a luxury for many smaller B2B but I think they're seeing that if they don't have a social media presence, they have a hole in their communications strategy.

Thank you for republishing this case study, because it's tough to find them in such detail.

York Saw & Knife is an industrial manufacturer of cutting tools and we've carefully started using social media, however we've seen many B2Bs stay away.

We recently published a poll asking "Why do B2Bs stay away from social media?" W'd appreciate your input and that of your readers.

The poll can be found on our most recent blog post: http://www.yorksaw.com/blog/b2b-and-social-media-take-the-poll/

Thanks.
